Obituary

Barbara Joan (Bittner) Hoppe was born on June 29, 1939, in Edina, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Albert and Helen (Mraz) Bittner. Barbara was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Minneapolis and was a graduate of South Minneapolis High School.

On July 11, 1963, Barbara was united in marriage to Ronald Hoppe at Christ the King Catholic Church in Minneapolis. After their marriage, the couple resided in Winthrop, Minnesota. Barbara was employed as a nurse’s aide, office secretary, Fingerhut and was a loving homemaker and mother. Barbara and Ronald adopted a son, Timothy. They shared 53 years of marriage.

Barbara attended River Valley Christian Church of New Ulm, in New Ulm, Minnesota.

Barbara enjoyed camping, traveling, baking, cooking, writing, and being a homemaker. She cherished her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Barbara passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016, at her home in Winthrop at the age of 77 years. Blessed be her memory.

Brothers, Bernerd Bittner and his wife, Lisa of Minneapolis, MN, and William “Bill” Bittner and his wife, Lisa of Spokane, WA;
Sisters-In-Law, Rosie Bittner of Minneapolis, MN, and Evelyn Bittner of Bloomington, MN;
Brother-In-Law, Jim Vincent of OR;
Nieces, Nephews other relatives and friends.

Barbara was preceded in death by her Parents, Albert and Helen Bittner; Siblings, John “Jack” Bittner, MaryAnn Vincent, “Fritz” Fred (Betty) Bittner, Jim Bittner.
