Service Information
Bernice A. Weishert, age 92, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025, 11:00 A.M., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn, with interment following in the High Island Cemetery in New Auburn.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 P.M., at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Obituary
Bernice Alvina (Senske) Weishert was born on November 13, 1932, in Gaylord, Minnesota. She was the daughter of William Sr. and Augusta (Tessmer) Senske and the youngest of 10 children. Bernice was baptized as an infant on December 18, 1932, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth by Pastor W. F. Mueller at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn, Minnesota. She received her education through the 8th Grade at a Country School in Winthrop, Minnesota.
On June 19, 1951, Bernice was united in marriage to Melvin Weishert by Pastor W. F. Mueller at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. Bernice and Melvin were blessed with 3 children: Kevin, Vicky, and Cindy. Bernice and Melvin shared just shy of 50 years of marriage when Melvin passed away on March 25, 2001.
Bernice could be described as a hard-working woman. She was first employed at Egg Produce in Arlington, Minnesota. She then began working at Telex Communications in Glencoe. She worked there for 35 years and retired on April 22, 1998. Bernice later worked at the McLeod Chronicle Newspaper for a number of years on Fridays and assisted with preparing the papers for delivery. Bernice was a lifelong and active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn.
Bernice enjoyed tending to her gardens and going out dancing. She looked forward to playing Bingo at GlenFields Living with Care. Family was of great importance to Bernice; she cherished the moments shared with family, and she would especially light up when spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bernice passed away with her family by her side on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe, at the age of 92 years. Blessed be her memory.
