Betty Chmielewski

Obituary

Betty Chmielewski was born on November 19, 1950, in Buffalo, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Herbert and LaVern (McNeely) Baumann. Betty was baptized as an infant at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Minnesota. She received her education in Buffalo and was a graduate of the Buffalo High School Class of 1969.

On February 20, 1981, Betty was united in marriage to Edward Chmielewski at the Courthouse in Litchfield. After their marriage, the couple resided in Biscay, Minnesota. Betty was employed at Elkay (Medallion Cabinets) in Waconia, retiring in 2011. She later resided in Winthrop, Gaylord and Glencoe.

Betty enjoyed crocheting, sewing and baking. She loved horses, gardening and flowers, playing cards with her husband, and was at her happiest while fishing. She was a strong woman who loved to laugh and joke. Family was very important to her. She cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Betty moved to Sibley Estates in Winthrop and then to Grand Meadows in Glencoe. She passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Glencoe Regional Health Services in Glencoe.

Brothers, Marlin Baumann of Excelsior, MN, and Kenneth Baumann and his wife, Arlinda of Silver Lake, MN;
Sisters-in-law, Kathy Baumann, and Cyndy Baumann;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends and her cat, Patty.

Betty was preceded in death by her Parents, Herbert and LaVern Baumann; Husband, Edward Chmielewski; and Brothers, Donald Baumann and Vernon Baumann; Granddaughter, Alison Jean Wiechmann; and Pets, Lucy and Patches.
