Obituary

Beverly “Bev” Irene Blumhoefer was born on October 22, 1943, in Hutchinson, Minnesota, the oldest of five children born to Ernest and Dawn (Koelln) Berg. She was baptized as an infant in the Lutheran Church and later confirmed in her youth. She grew up on a farm and went to school in the Franklin area. After her high school graduation in 1961, she moved to Minneapolis where she worked at Harold's Department Store. She has shared many stories of what it was like to transition from a farm in a very rural area to living in Minneapolis.

Beverly eventually worked her way back to the area and met Norbert "Norb" Blumhoefer. They were united in marriage on April 8, 1967. They lived in New Ulm for the first couple of years and then bought their first home in Fairfax where they settled. Bev and Norb were blessed with three children, Bob, Annie, and Joe.

Over the years, Bev worked for multiple different organizations including 3M, the local nursing home, Fairfax Schools, and ADC. She also owned and operated Bev's Upholstery out of her home for many years. Bev eventually decided to return to school and earned a nursing degree. Following her college graduation, she continued to work at the Fairfax Community Home. She eventually transitioned to a group home in New Ulm for a few years before retiring.

Bev enjoyed sewing/quilting, knitting/crocheting, Bingo, baking, playing cards and board games, gardening/flowers, crossword puzzles, traveling, spending time at their winter home in Texas, and having coffee with her beloved friends at The Sweet Spot Bake Shop. She worked for many years as an election judge and volunteered as a judge at the Renville County Fair. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was especially proud of and had immense love for her grandson's and her great-grandson, she loved and adored them so much.

Bev was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Fairfax and served on several church committees.

Beverly was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her. Blessed be her memory.
