Service Information
Brenda Sharp age 52, of Gaylord, passed away Monday, December 21st, 2015, at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.
Funeral Service will be Sunday, December 27th, 2:00 P.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mountville, Dryden Township, Sibley County, with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 26th, from 3:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at St. John's Lutheran Church, Mountville. A Prayer Service will be at 7:00 P.M. Saturday. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Sunday.
Obituary
Brenda Uecker Sharp was born on September 14, 1963, in Gaylord, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Ruben and Lydia (Senske) Uecker. Brenda was baptized as an infant on September 29, 1963, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth in May of 1977, both at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mountville. She received her education at Immanuel Lutheran School until the seventh grade and was a 1982 graduate of the Gaylord High School. Brenda furthered her education in sales and marketing, administration, and medical records at the Vo-tech’s in Hutchinson and Mankato.
On October 5, 1985, she was united in marriage at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mountville. This union was blessed with a daughter, Abby.
Brenda was a lifelong resident of Gaylord. She was the Victim Witness Coordinator/Office Manager for Schauer Law Office in Sibley County, where she was employed for 25 years. Brenda received the 2011 Crime Victim Service Inc., Distinguished Service Award. She was a member of The Mending Project and in January of 2012, she started a support group: Support Women Against Violence.
Brenda was a proud member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Mountville and taught Sunday school for many years. Her faith was her guiding light throughout life.
Brenda loved to walk and could be seen all over town; she enjoyed traveling, watching movies, planting flowers, nature, the fall colors, and her annual trip to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum with Abby. Brenda especially loved spending time with her daughter, family and friends.
Brenda passed away on Monday, December 21, 2015, surrounded by her family at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato at the age of 52 years. Blessed be her memory.

Daughter, Abby Barlament and her husband, Taylor of North Mankato, MN;
Special Friend, Steve Saxton of Winthrop, MN;
Siblings, Julie Kahle and her husband, Curtis of Gaylord, MN, Connie Quast and her husband, Doug of Dassel, MN, and Larry Uecker of Gaylord, MN;
Many Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Brenda was preceded in death by her Parents, Ruben and Lydia Uecker; and Nephew, Craig Kahle.
