Carol A. Shufelt, age 80, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Private Family Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, with interment in Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel.
Obituary
Carol Ann Shufelt was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on October 26, 1943, to Ralph and Virginia (Rockwell) Hurst. She remained in Flint, Michigan, until she wed Fred Shufelt, the love of her life. After their wedding at Holy Redeemer Church on September 25, 1961, Carol and Fred began a family and eventually settled in Saint Cloud, Minnesota. They were married for 62 years during which they lovingly raised 3 children together. Carol and Fred shared a mutual love of antiquing, traveling, and visiting their children and grandchildren.
Carol’s passion for helping others was demonstrated by her many years of working as a secretary for Saint Benedict’s Nursing Home in Saint Cloud. She loved all animals and had a special place in her heart for raising her Yorkies.
Carol passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson, at the age of 80 years.

Daughters, Cindy Brady and her husband, David of Pensacola, FL,
Tina Marks and her husband, Dennis of Boyertown, PA;
Son, Jeff Shufelt and his wife, Shellie of Hutchinson, MN;
Grandchildren, Erin Brady, David Brady, Jr. and his wife, Lyndsey, Miranda Marks, Andrew Marks, Rebecca Marks, Travis Shufelt and his significant other, Shanna, Cory Shufelt and his fiancée, Katie;
Numerous Great-Grandchildren;
Many other relatives and friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her Parents, Ralph and Virginia Hurst; Brother, Ralph Hurst; Sister, Goldie Jean Johnson.
