Service Information

Carol Brown, age 77, Wife of Jerry, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at Woodstone Senior Living in Hutchinson.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 13, 2020, at 11:00 A.M., at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson with interment in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Monday, July 13, 2020, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M., (one hour prior to the service) ALL AT CHURCH.

Obituary

Carol Dorothy Brown was born on June 21, 1943, in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Joseph and Edna (Haug) Jancsek. Carol was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her catholic faith as a youth. She received her education in St. Paul, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Alexander-Ramsey High School Class of 1961.

On September 13, 1969, Carol was united in marriage to Gerald Dorvin Brown at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. Carol and Gerald have resided in Hutchinson since 1975. They shared 50 years of marriage.

Carol owned and operated the Brown’s Flower Shop in Hutchinson for 30 years. She retired in 2005.

Carol was an active member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson where she was part of the Council of Catholic Women. She was also a member of different garden clubs.

Carol enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was a collector of many things and loved her four dogs. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

When Carol needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident at Woodstone Senior Living in Hutchinson on January 7, 2019. She passed away there on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at the age of 77 years.

Carol is survived by her:
Husband, Gerald Brown of Hutchinson, MN;
Sister, Lois Bergerson of Circle Pines, MN;
Brother, John Jancsek of Australia;
Sister-in-law, Alice Jancsek of the Twin City area, MN;
Brother-in-law, Steven Brown and his wife, Vickie, of Kensington, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her Parents, Joseph and Edna Jancsek; and Brother, Robert Jancsek.

    So sorry for your loss. I will always remember how Carol was so helpful at the green house. She would many times slip in a free plant and say, just try this different plant and see how you like it. Her involvement at St. Anastasia was an example of faith and commitment to our young school students and the church community. Blessed be her memory.

    I’m so very sorry Gerald. I can’t even imagine what you’ve been through these last couple years. Carol was always so kind to me and I will always remember that. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I always loved watching the two of you and seeing how much you enjoyed God’s creation, especially the plants and flowers.
