Service Information
Carol J. Cosgriff, age 77, of Hutchinson, former longtime resident of Brownton, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Harmony River Living Center in Hutchinson.
Memorial Service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2020, at 11:00 A.M., at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson with interment following in the High Island Cemetery in New Auburn, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Monday, September 14, 2020, from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M., one hour prior to the service, all at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson.
Social distancing guidelines will be followed and face masks are required.
Obituary
Carol Jean Cosgriff was born on April 21, 1943, in New Auburn Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Howard and Meta (Scharmer) Meyer. Carol was baptized as an infant on May 2, 1943, at the Arlington Methodist Church, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on June 9, 1957, at the Church of Peace in Glencoe, Minnesota. She received her education in Glencoe through grade 11.
Carol resided in Brownton, Minnesota, her whole life. She was blessed three daughters, Jan, Jodi, and Nichole.
Carol was employed at the Brownton Café as a waitress for 30 years. She was a member of the Brownton Congregational Church.
Carol enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching game shows on the television.
When Carol needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident at Harmony River Living Center on January 7, 2013. She passed away there on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at the age of 77 years.

Jodi Rannow and her husband, Dale, of Ottertail, MN,
Nichole Pautz of St. Peter, MN;
Grandchildren, Amber Fiskness and her husband, Jed, Merissa Polzin, Timothy Amborn and his wife, Katie, Patrick Amborn, and Shyler Andrews;
Great-Grandchildren, Mackenzie Fiskness, Zachary Fiskness, Abigail Fiskness, and Keith Amborn;
Many other relatives and friends.
Carol is preceded in death by her Parents, Howard and Meta Meyer; Son-in-law, Steve Polzin; Brother, Roger Meyer; and Sister, Darlene Johnson and her husband, Jim.
