Service Information

Carol Picha, age 79, of rural Glencoe, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at her home in rural Glencoe, Minnesota.

Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at 10:00 A.M., at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – 770 School Road Hutchinson, MN 55350.

A private family burial was held in the Picha Family Cemetery Association in Glencoe Township.

Obituary

Carol A. Picha was born on December 16, 1938, in Graham County, Arizona. She was the daughter of Andrew and Zereta (Farnsworth) Angle. Carol was baptized and confirmed at the age of 8 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Kirtland, New Mexico. She was a graduate of the Mesa Public School Class of 1956. Carol furthered her education at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, Arizona for two years. 

On July 10, 1961, Carol was united in marriage to Ralph LeRoy Picha Sr. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Safford, Arizona. They were later sealed for all time and eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple.  This marriage was blessed with seven children, Jean, Ralph Jr., Cynthia, Kristine, Lynette, Rebecca, and Edward. Carol and Ralph resided on the family farm outside of Glencoe.  They shared 56 years of marriage.

In addition to being a loving homemaker to her husband and children, Carol worked as a telephone operator and as a Home Health Aide for McLeod County for 22 years until she retired in 2004. Carol was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Hutchinson and served tirelessly in many callings over the years. She also served as an adult leader in Cub Scout Pack 246, as an elected chairwoman in the Rich Valley Homemakers, and a 4-H Leader.

Carol enjoyed traveling with her family. She also enjoyed canning and gardening. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.  She was an expert at driving tractor and baler.

In recent years, Carol faced the trial of Alzheimer’s disease. She was lovingly cared for by her husband and children. Carol passed away on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at her home in Glencoe, Minnesota with her family. She was 79 years old.

                Ralph Picha, Jr. of Dodge Center, MN,
                Cynthia Litzau and her husband, Scott, of Glencoe, MN,
                Kristine Picha and her husband, Peter Harff, of Mankato, MN,
                Lynette Hoese and her husband, Tim, of St. Cloud, MN,
                Rebecca Mallak and her husband, Jeremy, of Nicollet, MN,
                Edward Picha of Glencoe, MN;
15 Grandchildren, Blake, Andrew, Brent, Caleb, Graham, Lucy, Emma, Zereta, Grace, Silas, Makayla, Savanna, Chase, Izaiah, and Madison;
Siblings, Joy Laynton of Central, AZ,
   Eldon Angle and his wife, Irene, of Safford, AZ,
   Merline Angle of Richfield, UT,
               Betty Larson of Safford, AZ,
Brother-In-Law, Skip Higgins of Chino City, AZ;
Many other relatives and friends.

Carol is preceded in death by her: Parents, Andrew and Zereta Angle; Siblings, Edith (Jay) Higgins, Lila Higgins, Velma (Val) Millett, and LaFay Angle; Brothers-In-Law, Raey Laynton and LeRoy Larson.

The family would like to thank Carol’s doctor of many years, Bryan Petersen, the staff at Lakeview Ranch for their loving care, and also Heartland and Allina hospices.

Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.

    I love you Aunt Carol! Thank you for being an example of endurance and perseverance through difficult circumstances. You gave life ge your best! And your family will continue to be blessed from your presence from the other side of the veil!
