Service Information
Carole J. Hanschen, age 78, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, formerly of Osakis, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at Prairie Senior Cottages in Hutchinson.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, Minnesota, with interment in Acacia Park Cemetery in Mendota Heights, Minnesota.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Carole Jeane Hanschen was born on December 27, 1945, in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Henry and Violet (Erdahl) Geerdes. Carole was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Richfield, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Richfield High School Class of 1963. Carole continued her education at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Carole was united in marriage to Peter Hanschen. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Sheila and Amy. Carole resided in Osakis, Minnesota, and in May of 2024 moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Carole was loving mother and homemaker to her daughters. She was a member of Oak Grove Lutheran Church in Richfield.
Carole liked creating art, playing the piano, and reading. She also enjoyed latch hooking and knitting. Carole especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Carole passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2024, at Prairie Senior Cottages in Hutchinson, at the age of 78 years.

Daughters, Sheila Bentzen and her husband, Scott of Maplewood, MN;
Amy Elling and her husband, Mark of Cosmos, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.
Carole is preceded in death by her Parents, Henry and Violet Geerdes; Sisters, Patricia Hildebrandt and Bonnie Manthey.
