Carolina Barrera - Ramirez, age 37, of Glencoe, Minnesota, wife of Islam Barrera, passed away Friday, May 28th, 2021 at her home in Glencoe.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 3rd, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe with interment at a later date in the Glencoe City Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday, June 2nd, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Obituary
Carolina Francisca Barrera - Ramirez was born on December 3, 1983, in Puebla, Puebla, Mexico. She was the daughter of Adan and Carolina (Garcia) Ramirez. Carolina was baptized as an infant on February 18, 1984 at Sagrario Metropolitano Church and later was confirmed in her faith as a youth on June 28, 2008 at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, Minnesota. She received her education in Glencoe, Minnesota, graduating with the Glencoe High School Class of 2002.
On June 28, 2008, Carolina was united in marriage to Islam Barrera-Colin at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, Minnesota. Carolina lived in Puebla, Puebla, Mexico until she was 14 and then moved to Glencoe. Carolina and Islam made their home in Glencoe, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Wendy, Islam Jr., Kendra and Korey. Carolina and Islam shared over 19 years together.
Carolina previously worked at Grand Meadows Senior Living in Glencoe and was a Tupperware Director. She was a member of Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe.
Carolina enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, puzzles and any crafts. Family was very important to her and she treasured the time spent with them and her friends.
Carolina passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021, at her home in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 37 years, 5 months and 25 days.

Carolina was preceded in death by her Grandmothers, Lorenza Carmen Hernandez, Carmen Xiqui.

Islam and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Carolina always had a smile on her face whenever I would see her at St. Pius X Catholic School when she would drop the kids off or pick them up. She was a very loving mother and I know she will be missed by all of her family. God Bless, Bobbi
