Obituary

Carolyn Kay (Kloempken) Burri was born on February 7, 1965, in Gaylord, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Gordon and Pearl (Franck) Kloempken. Carolyn was baptized as an infant at St. George Catholic Church in Glencoe, Minnesota, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Glencoe. She received her education in Glencoe and graduated with the Glencoe High School class of 1983. She continued her education at Willmar Community College.

Carolyn was employed at Bump’s Family Restaurant, Seneca, and recently in food service for GSL Schools.

Carolyn loved the Lord and was an active member at the Church of St. Pius X, where she volunteered for anything that needed to be done.  She was an active member and volunteer with the American Legion Auxiliary as well.

Carolyn enjoyed walking, going on bike rides, playing cards and board games (especially Skip-Bo), visiting the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, and attending the annual Kloempken Family Twins game and family gatherings.

A special acknowledgement and thank you to the TriStar A.C.T. team that assisted Carolyn beginning in 2020 after a long hospital stay.  The team’s assistance allowed Carolyn to stay in her home, her community, and her church.  It also gave her family almost five more good years with their beloved sister.

Carolyn passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Glencoe Regional Health in Glencoe, at the age of 60. Blessed be her memory.

Carolyn is survived by her:

      Dear Mary and siblings,
It is so sad to lose your sister, Carolyn. She was blessed to have you all there for her and caring for her needs. I never met her but knew of her through Mary and Byron (Barney). She was such a pretty gal. I know her volunteer work will be missed. May she rest in peace.

I’ve only known Carolyn that past couple years. We were on the Alb Washing and Flower Care Committees at Church. Always willing to go the extra mile to get things done. She had to give up the Alb Washing but very true to the Flower Committee. Will miss seeing her in Church, always in the same pew surrounded by her friends.
    My deepest sympathy!

Carolyn always had a smile. When we saw each other she lit up the area. Always concerned for others well being. Great lady, gone too soon. She’s a great friend.

It was a delight to know Carolyn –
So passionate about her faith, family & serving others. She was an extremely intelligent, caring friend with a sweet smile. We had fun as Carolyn patiently taught me to play “Skip Bo”shortly before she passed. God rest her soul!

I was only able to know Carolyn for a few months from working with her, but during that time I had learned so much about her and grew to love her so much. She will be deeply missed!
My deepest sympathy to your whole family!
