Service Information

Charles “Chuck” L. Kosek, age 70, of Haven Township, rural St. Cloud, formerly of Stewart, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at his home in St. Cloud.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 13, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, with interment in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery in Fernando Township, rural Stewart, Minnesota.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral chapel.

Obituary

Charles “Chuck” LeRoy Kosek was born on October 27, 1954 in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was the son of Emil and Luellen (Zettler) Kosek, Jr. Chuck was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Stewart, Minnesota. He received his education in Stewart, and was a graduate of the Stewart High School Class of 1973.

Chuck entered active military service in the United States Army on March 13, 1974, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and served his country during the Vietnam War. He received an Honorable Discharge on March 4, 1976, at Fort Dix, New Jersey, and achieved the rank of Specialist 4th Class.

On February 22, 1985, Chuck was united in marriage to Mary Beth Doerr in Duluth, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with one son, Kory. Chuck and Mary resided in Glencoe, Minnesota, and then moved to Williams, Minnesota. In 2008, they moved to Haven Township, rural St. Cloud, Minnesota. They shared 25 years of marriage prior to the passing of Mary on August 14, 2010.

Chuck was employed as a truck driver for Pan O’Gold in St. Cloud, retiring earlier this year. Chuck attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church while living in Glencoe. He was also a member of DeGree Fleisch American Legion Post 125 in Stewart and a life member of the DAV in St. Cloud.

Chuck enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends.

Chuck passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at his home in Haven Township, rural St. Cloud, at the age of 70 years.

Siblings, Gary Kosek and his wife, Mary of Backus, MN,
Connie Kotton and her husband, Fred of Pillager, MN,
Karen Thorson and her husband, Jodell of Hutchinson, MN,
Rodney Kosek of Buffalo, MN,
Steven Kosek of Stewart, MN,
Debra McCormick and her husband, Bill of Stewart, MN,
Jolene Marconcina of Hector, MN,
Lori Korson of Brownton, MN;
Many Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Chuck is preceded in death by his Parents, Emil and Luellen Kosek; Wife, Mary Kosek.

    You all have our deepest sympathy. So many fond memories of Chuck in school. Also ice skating at the ice rink in Stewart. Thoughts and prayers to his family. Sorry we were not able to attend his service today. Rest in peace Chuck.

    Chuck was a great guy. My prayers go out to his family. Was great to converse with him waiting for loads to be done at POG.
