Charles Youngblom, age 84, of Lafayette passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at his home in Lafayette.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, August 17, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at First Lutheran Church in Lafayette with interment in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday, August 16, 2021, from 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at the Dalin-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Winthrop and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Obituary
Charles Melvin Youngblom was born on December 24, 1936, in New Ulm, Minnesota. He was the son of Melvin and Helena (Larson) Youngblom. Charles was baptized as an infant at First Lutheran Church in Lafayette, and was later confirmed in his faith on June 10, 1951, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Anaconda, Montana. He received his education in Anaconda, Montana, and was a graduate of the Anaconda High School Class of 1954.
Charles served his country in the United States Navy Reserves.
On August 11, 1957, Charles was united in marriage to Janet M. Bern at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop. After their marriage, the family farmed in Lafayette Township. Charles and Janet were blessed with six children. They shared 53 years of marriage when Janet passed away on July 10, 2011.
Charles was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Lafayette. He enjoyed singing with the Mankato River Blenders and was barber shopper of the year in 2016. He was on the board for the New Ulm Community Concert Association.
Charles enjoyed singing, fishing, and traveling. He cherished the time he spent with his family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Charles passed away peacefully at his home in Lafayette on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, at the age of 84 years. Blessed be his memory.

Bill Youngblom and his wife, Linda,
Tom Youngblom and his wife, Diana,
Paulette (Youngblom) Johnson and her husband, Douglas, and
Karl Youngblom and his wife, Rachel;
13 Grandchildren, Benjamin, Christopher, Sarah, Alicia, Nicholas, Kristin, Michelle, Brittany, Emily, Hannah-Nikyta, Jaydan, Katie, and Nicole;
5 Great Grandchildren, Lucas, Caeli, Sophia, Gianna, and William;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his Parents, Melvin and Helena Youngblom; Wife, Janet Youngblom; Sister, Betty Jean Matthews.
