Conrad Helgemo, age 68, of Brownton, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017, at his home in Brownton, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Thursday, April 20, 2017, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota, with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be held at a later date at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls, Minnesota.
Obituary
Conrad Marvin Helgemo was born on March 26, 1949, in Canby, Minnesota. He was the son of Marvin Oliver and Ann Louise (Orton) Helgemo. Conrad was baptized as an infant on May 1, 1949, in Minneota, Minnesota, and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth on June 9, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. He received his education in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, graduating with the Buffalo Lake High School Class of 1967. Conrad entered active military service in the United States Navy on July 26, 1967, and served his country during the Vietnam era. He received an Honorable Discharge on April 19, 1971.
On April 3, 1968, Conrad was united in marriage to Judith Ann Ulrich in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Conrad and Judith made their home in San Diego, California, Hutchinson and Brownton, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Michael and Michele and their stepdaughter, Anna Chmielewska. Conrad and Judith shared over 49 years of marriage.
Conrad worked at 3M for 20 years, Hutchinson Technology Inc., Seagate, Pillsbury and Dura Supreme. He was a chemical technician, massage therapist, did auto restoration and owned Connie’s Custom Paint. Conrad was a member of the Hutchinson Fire Department Rescue Squad for 14 years, Hutchinson VFW Post #906, Hutchinson American Legion Post #96, Patriot Guard and the DAV.
Conrad enjoyed watching movies and the History channel, eating popcorn, woodworking, DIY projects, autobody car restoration, riding his motorcycle and taking trips. He also loved spending time with this family and friends.
Conrad passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at his home in Brownton, Minnesota, at the age of 68 years and 19 days.

Granddaughter, Ada Chmielewski;
Step Great Grandson, Payton Duzan;
Pets, Kaisa and Cinnamon;
Sister, Lona Helgemo Knacke;
Other relatives and friends.
Conrad is preceded in death by his Parents, Marvin and Ann Helgemo; Beloved Pets, Ilse and Budweiser.
