Obituary

Courtney Rae Christensen was born on March 27, 2000, in New Ulm, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Jennifer Schroeder and the late Brian Christensen. Courtney was baptized as an infant at New Ulm Methodist Church.  She received her education at Warren-Alvarado-Oslo High School in Warren, Minnesota and later transferred to Red Rock Central Public School in Lamberton, Minnesota. She was a graduate of Red Rock Central Public School Class of 2018. She had plans of continuing her education in January at Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Jackson, Minnesota.

Courtney was employed at the Dollar General in Windom, Minnesota.

One of Courtney's biggest passions was skin care and nails. During her spare time she would sit in front of her long mirror applying all of her different make up products. She also enjoyed art and crafting. She was super auntie. She loved playing, laughing, snuggling, watching movies and face timing her two nephews Karter and Liam. Courtney and her boyfriend Gage shared a love for each other; fishing and spending time with their fur baby Simon. Courtney, Grandpa Bill, Uncle Charlie and her father enjoyed spending time together at the cabin up north hunting and making deer sausage. She also enjoyed basketball, volleyball and hanging out with her besties.

I am SO sorry for your tremendous loss. I don’t know you, nor did I know Courtney, but I have lost 2 of my children in 2 separate car accidents, one 19yrs old, and one 32. My heart aches for your pain and sadness…I know the emptiness and the sorrow. May God grant you comfort and solace at this hugely difficult time~

    Brenda,
So very sorry to hear of your loss. I know it is especially at this time of the year. I lost a bother-in-law on Thanksgiving a number of years plus my wonderful mother-in-law who was more of a mother to me than my own mother passed away on Christmas eve some years later. Try hard to remember your sister with love. Her spirit will be with you.

I know Courtney through my granddaughter Savannah who loved her very much! Most of all I know you-her family and friends through the loss of our own child.
I know the pain never ends-but life does go own. I know Courtney will always be with you every day of the rest of your lives. You will see her in the sun, the moon, the stars and all of Gods beauty. You will hear her at the most unpredictable times and smile and cry when you least expect it.
Peace comes in knowing we will all be together soon!! You have an angel now!
My love to all of you

Dearest friend Jen and beloved Brenna and all of Courtney’s family and friends, I remember the little baby I held in my arms, and as I look back at her grade school and high school pictures, I remember a beautiful, energetic young lady. She was a blessing and gift from God he called home sooner than we wanted. My heart is aching, and Courtney will always be a part of me and all of us who enjoyed her smile and laughter.

Thank you Joan for all you and the wonderful school Did for Courtney. Thank you your support now. All the years of basketball, volleyball, church, the drive in, walks to the grocery stores, the Dairy Queen she worked at, her room with the steep stairs. Christmas, her birthdays, out hunting the guys and all her challenges of being a pre teen and teen. She recently got to go back to her house and see her growth chart in pencil on the kitchen entrance. The kindest women let her walk through the house. We know all of you are hurting too. She missed Warren Mn so much and constantly talked to all of those who love her up there about it. Gage is the perfect match of love she treasured. Prayers are appreciated, she is unforgettable.

I was lucky enough to be Courtney’s school counselor during her senior year. We had many talks about her Dad, her nephews and her Gage. Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I loved her beautiful smile and sassy love of life. Life is so unfair at times. My heart is broken over this great loss to our world.

Words cannot express my sadness. Courtney was such a sweet girl. I have many fond memories of her. I got to see her when she hung out with my neice and when she would come into the cafe and ALWAYS ordered French toast and hot chocolate. She would also give me sating advice. Ha. My heart goes to her family at such a tragic loss.
