Damian was amazing from the start, with incredible hair that stood straight up and a smile that very rarely left his face. He had that way of making you feel joyful and creatively would craft words and sing new songs from old tunes that sent us giggling. When he sold candy bars to get to Camp Foley in the sixth grade he would open one singing, ” I’ve got a golden ticket!” From Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. As he checked in with me in the classroom at NDMA throughout last year, he would connect that memory with a new tune or singing my favorite diddy. Well Damian, you have gotten the golden ticket. One you redeemed in peace, love, and hope in God who holds you now. We are heartbroken because we will miss you greatly. We hold great hope to see you again in heaven my friend. It was an honor to watch you grow and be apart of your life. We were blessed because God shared you with the world even though it was way too short. Gentle blessings my friend.
