Obituary

Darris Dale Sifferath was born on December 21, 1939, in Hutchinson, Minnesota. He was the son of Harry and Irma (Wehking) Sifferath. Darris was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth in 1953. He received his education in Hector, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Hector High School class of 1958. He was active in Agriculture classes and received a state FFA Degree Award. Darris was a lifelong farmer. In the late 1950s he joined his Dad in the farming operation. They raised a variety of livestock including dairy cattle, pigs, sheep, and chickens. The family raised corn and soybeans recently, but also raised hay, wheat and oats.

In addition to his horse Topsy, he enjoyed his dog, Lady who became his companion in his later years. He was also in the process of trying to tame a feral cat.

Darris enjoyed a variety of activities including time spent socializing with his family and friends, starting up conversations with people in the community, and was always interested in what was happening in the area, and one of his other favorite pastimes was mowing his lawn.
