Daryl L. Luthens, age 79, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away on Monday, September 1, 2025, at his home in Hutchinson.
Celebration of Life will be Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 4:00-8:00 P.M., at Crow River Winery in Hutchinson, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and the impact he had on all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers and cards, donations can be made to either of the local agricultural youth groups in memory of Daryl Luthens:

Obituary
Daryl Lynn Luthens, a beloved father, grandfather, and community member, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.
Daryl was born on May 14, 1946, in Hutchinson, Minnesota, to Arnold and Clara (Schlueter) Luthens. Daryl graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1964, and soon after enlisted in the United States National Guard, proudly serving until 1988.
Daryl's life was marked by his dedication to family and community. He was a passionate dairy farmer, a vocation that brought him immense joy and fulfillment. Family gatherings were a cornerstone of his life, where he cherished the time spent with his loved ones. Daryl was a social man, always eager to connect with others and contribute to the community around him.
In a testament to his commitment to public service, Daryl was elected as a county commissioner, a role he embraced with enthusiasm and pride. His contributions to the community will be remembered fondly by those he served.
Daryl is survived by his children: Jaqueline Reiner (Kurt), Shane (Maggie), Brandon (Natalie), Justin (Megan), and Garrett (Melissa). He was a proud grandfather to Annabelle, Micah, Milo, Poppy, LaVae, and Paris. He is also survived by his siblings: Karen Stohl, Randy (Patty) Luthens, and Sandy Luthens; and aunts, Adeline Zummach, Arlene Tewes, and Corrine Schlueter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Clara; grandparents Frank and Augusta Luthens, Henry and Ella Schlueter; and his sister, Pamela Jean.
Daryl's warmth, kindness, and dedication to his family and community will be deeply missed.
