Service Information

David Heintz, age 77, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 19, 2018, 11:00 A.M. at Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota.  The Knights of Columbus Rosary will be at 6:00 P.M. with Parish Prayers at 6:30 P.M.  Visitation will continue one hour prior the service at the church on Friday.

Obituary

David Leo Heintz was born on December 21, 1940, in Worthington, Minnesota.  He was the son of John and Gertrude (Sturm) Heintz.  David was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith.   He graduated from Rapid City, South Dakota High School.  David entered active duty with the United States Army on July 29, 1960.  He received honorable discharge on July 5, 1962.

On April 26, 1969, David was united in marriage to Jo Ann Cox in Marshalltown, Iowa.  David and JoAnn made their home in Union, Iowa before moving to Stacy, Minnesota.  In the early 1990’s the couple made Glencoe their home.  Their marriage was blessed with two children, Mary and David Jr.  David and Jo Ann shared over 48 years of marriage together.  

David worked for several trucking companies and enjoyed woodworking.  He was a faithful member of the church of St. Pius X and a member of the Knights of the Columbus.  David was very social and would make his rounds to the local businesses on his scooter.  He loved taking care of the birds at Millie Beneke and made sure they were fed.  David also like his flowers and would plant flowers every year.

David passed away on Friday, January 11, 2018, at the Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 77 years and 21 days.

David is survived by his:
Wife, Jo Ann Heintz of Glencoe, MN;
Daughter, Mary Green and her husband, Richard, of Brooklyn Park, MN;
Brother, Jim Heintz and his wife, Jackie, of Maple Grove, MN;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents, John and Gertrude Heintz, son, David Heintz, Jr.; brothers, Jack Heintz, Tom Heintz.
