Service Information
Dayna L. McKimm, age 72, of Lake Marion, Collins Township, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Dayna Lynn McKimm was born on July 28, 1952, in Litchfield, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Thomas “Bill” and Norma (Miller) Abbott. Dayna was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Dassel Covenant Church in Dassel, Minnesota. She attended Dassel Country School and was a graduate of the Dassel High School Class of 1970.
On October 10, 1970, Dayna was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” McKimm at Dassel Covenant Church. This marriage was blessed with two daughters, Shannon and Kasi. Dayna and Bob resided in Hutchinson, Minnesota, and Glencoe, Minnesota. In 2000, they moved to their home in Lake Marion, Collins Township, Minnesota. Dayna and Bob shared 54 years of marriage.
Dayna was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later as a Physical Therapy Assistant at Glencoe Regional Health. She became disabled in September of 2007. Dayna was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Dayna enjoyed watching her favorite television shows: The Waltons, Gunsmoke, American Idol, the History Channel, and the Minnesota Vikings. She had an extensive Angel and cookbook collection. Christmas of 2024, Dayna was adamant that she and Bob divide all the cookbooks among the children and grandchildren. She cherished spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
Dayna passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in the comfort of her own home, at the age of 72 years.

Grandchildren: Meaghan and her wife, Sarah; McKenna and her special friend, Dawson; Brennen; Macaulay and his special friend, Taylor; Parker and his special friend, Lauren; Elijah;
Sister, LuAnn Weseloh and her husband, Gus of Dassel, MN,
Sue Moe of Duluth, MN;
Sister-in-law, Dee Abbott of Tacoma, WA;
Many Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Dayna is preceded in death by her Parents, Thomas “Bill” and Norma Abbott; Son-in-law, Todd Pooler; Brother, Dan Abbott.
