Service Information
Delores Johnson age 93, of Winthrop, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord.
Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 26th, at 11:00 A.M. at Bernadotte Lutheran Church, Bernadotte Township, Nicollet County, with interment in the church cemetery. Memorials preferred to Bernadotte Memorial Fund. the family will designate to the 150th Outdoor Cemetery Directory.
Visitation will be Friday, March 25th from 4:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at Bernadotte Lutheran Church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Obituary
Delores Myrtle (Berg) Johnson was born on August 4, 1922, in New Sweden Township, Nicollet County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Clarence H. and Myrtle (Lund) Berg. Delores was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 16, 1937, by Pastor O.E. Olmon at Bernadotte Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Winthrop High School. After high school she was employed at the Bernadotte Store and the Mankato Photo Shop.
On November 23, 1946, Delores was united in marriage to Russell Johnson at Bernadotte Lutheran Church. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Kevin, Ronald, and Kathryn. Delores and Russell farmed in the Bernadotte area and the Winthrop area, before moving to Winthrop in 1975. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Delores and Russell shared 55 years of marriage before Russell passed away on September 21, 2002.
Delores was a lifelong member of Bernadotte Lutheran Church, Women of the ELCA and taught Sunday School and Bible School. She was also a member of the Legion Auxiliary and the Winthrop Senior Citizens. Delores was the secretary for 10 years for United Charities.
Delores enjoyed photography, scrapbooking, flowers, gardening, sewing, crafting, fishing, playing cards, and delivering Meals on Wheels. She loved to entertain and have company for dinner. She loved spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
When she needed assistance with her daily care, Delores became a resident of Oak Terrace Health Care Center and passed away there on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the age of 93 years. Blessed be her memory.

Kathryn Stuber and her husband, Michael of Wyoming, MN;
9 Grandchildren, Amanda (Matthew) Felger, Karen (Jim) Marren, Brent (Sarah) Johnson, Emilie (Joey) Hendrickson, Lacey (Jasen) Kapaun, Beth (Scott) Erdal, Scott (Keri) Johnson, Brittany (Robert Sangren) Jesmer, Addie (Charles) Prahl;
14 Great-Grandchildren;
Sisters-In-Law, MaeAnn Swenson, Elaine Berg, Ruby Erickson and Lorraine (DelRoy) Bruss;
Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Delores was preceded in death by her Parents, Clarence and Myrtle Berg; Husband, Russell Johnson; Grandson, Matthew Owen; Brothers, Wallace (Mary) Berg, Milford Berg, Myron (Lucille) Berg, Roland (Marie) Berg, and Harris Berg; Brothers-in-Law, Stan Swenson and Herb Erickson, Curtis (Amanda) and (Dorothy) Johnson, Gordon (Olive) Johnson, Sister-In-Law, Mildred (Ron) Evans.
