Obituary

Dennis Lee Engelmann was born on August 11, 1945, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Herbert and Eldora (Boesche) Engelmann. Dennis was baptized as an infant on August 26, 1945, by Pastor R. Ehlen at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plato, Minnesota, and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth on March 22, 1959, by Pastor A. H. Fellwock at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. He received his education in Glencoe, Minnesota, graduating with the Glencoe High School Class of 1963.

On June 22, 1965, Dennis was united in marriage to Patricia Dorothea Field in South Dakota. Dennis and Patricia made their home in Glencoe. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Dawn, Alicia, Nichole and Shawn. Dennis and Patricia shared over 54 years of marriage.

Dennis worked as a mechanic for a local implement dealer. He raised Hereford cattle and enjoyed farming with his brothers. Dennis loved his Oliver tractors, drafting and drawing, building chicken coops, rabbit hutches and bird houses. He also loved old black and white movies and TV westerns.  Dennis always put others first and he continued that at the end of his life by donating to the Lions Eye Bank.

Dennis passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at Glencoe Regional Health Services in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 74 years and 17 days.

Dennis was preceded in death by his Parents, Herbert and Eldora Engelmann; Brother, Gene Engelmann; Sister, Carol Brelje.
