Donald Erickson, age 94, of Waconia, Minnesota, formerly of St. Bonifacius, Minnesota, died on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society in Waconia, Minnesota.

Private Family Memorial Service at a later date.

Obituary

Donald Clarence Erickson was born on October 24, 1923, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the son of Clarence and Myrtle (Swanson) Erickson. He received his education and was a graduate of high school/vocational in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Donald entered active military service in the United States Army in February 28, 1943, and served his country during World War II. He received an Honorable Discharge on March 15, 1947.

On July 10, 1945, Donald was united in marriage to Lea Hannotte in Verviers, Belgium, during his military service. Donald and Lea made their home in Richfield, St. Bonifacius, Lester Prairie and Waconia, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with six children, Don, Richard, James, Jeanne, Michele and John. Donald and Lea shared over 72 years of marriage.

Donald worked at various jobs until Pako Corporation where he worked as a machinist for 20 years, retiring on May 1, 1983. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and coin collecting. Donald loved working with stained glass, building and construction. He cherished the time spent with his family and friends.

Donald passed away on April 7, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society in Waconia, Minnesota, at the age of 94 years, 5 months and 14 days.

(Mike) Kraemer, Mike Erickson, Sandi Weinand, Nathan (Jamie) Erickson, Nicki (Alex) Nash, Jennifer
(Branden) Aretz, Jon D. (Fiancé, Rachel Wynsteker) Erickson, Cassie (Phil) Schneider;
16 Great-Grandchildren;

Other relatives and many friends.

Donald is preceded in death by his Parents, Clarence and Myrtle Erickson; Son, James Erickson; Brother, Ken (Therese) Erickson; Sister, Audrey (Joe) Popko.

    Don was a very loving and caring man . He will truly be missed not only by family but by every one who had the privilege of his presence. I’m so sorry for your loss
