Obituary
Donald “Don” Russell Greenman was born on August 10, 1940, in Pillager, Minnesota. He was the son of Ray and Alice (Lajoie) Greenman. Don spent most of his childhood in Tracy, Minnesota. He was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at the Methodist Church in Tracy. Don received his education in Tracy, and was a graduate of the Tracy High School class of 1958.
Don entered active military service in the United States Navy on August 5, 1958. He received an Honorable Discharge on August 2, 1961, at U.S. Navrecsta, T.I., San Francisco, California, and achieved the rank of Torpedoman’s Mate Second Class.
On September 7, 1963, Don was united in marriage to Judith “Judy” Livingston at Trinity Lutheran Church in Balaton, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with three daughters, Marti, Anita and Lynn. Don and Judy made their home in Hutchinson, Minnesota. They shared 62 years of marriage.
Don was employed at 3M in Hutchinson for 32 years, retiring at the age of 60. He spent the next 17 years traveling with the love of his life, his wife Judy. In 2017, Don suffered a massive stroke. In true “Don” fashion, he defied the odds and did all of the things he was told he would never do again.
Don loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and gardening. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and playing baseball. Don’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was there for his girls, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, as well as his extended family. Don was a member of Vineyard United Methodist Church of Hutchinson.
