Service Information
Donna Olson, age 84, of Hector passed away Friday, May 4, 2018, at her daughter's home in Hector.
Funeral Service will be Friday, May 11, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the Hughes-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hector, and will continue Friday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church for one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be held later in the Hector City Cemetery.
Obituary
Donna Jean Olson was born December 16, 1933, at her Grandparents’ home in Osceola Township, Renville County, Minnesota, the daughter of Max and Norrine (Grimm) Beske. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at St. John Lutheran Church in Osceola Township. Donna grew up on the family farm and graduated from the Hector High School with the Class of 1951.
On November 28, 1952, Donna was united in marriage to Howard “Shorty” Olson at the St. John Lutheran Church. They made their home in Hector, and were blessed with five children. They loved watching their family grow during their 65 years of marriage.
Donna was a busy wife, homemaker, and mother. She worked in production at 3M in Hutchinson for 28 years. Donna enjoyed baking goodies, especially at Christmas. During family gatherings you would find her busy in the kitchen helping out, any way she could.
Donna was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hector.
On Friday evening, May 4, 2018, Donna passed away peacefully at her daughter Kathy’s home in Hector, listening to hymns being played on the piano, with her family lovingly surrounding her. She had reached the age of 84 years, 4 months, and 18 days. Blessed be her memory.

Grandchildren: Nicole (Kahl, husband Brandon) Washburn of Chaska, Adam Kahl of Hector, Leah (Hauer, husband Taite) Plaas of Red Wing, Stephanie (Hauer, husband Mike) Gogolin of Duluth, Paul (wife Heather) Olson of Hastings, Karl (wife Abby) Olson of Delano, Erik (wife Katie) Olson of Delano, Brittney Olson of Buffalo, Ashley Olson of Buffalo, Christopher Olson of Hector;
Great-Grandchildren: McKenna VanderVoort, Madison Washburn, Brekin Plaas, Laiten Plaas, Aevyn Plaas, Levi Gogolin, Olivia Gogolin, Ryder Olson, Soren Olson, Adley Olson, Reid Olson;
Brother, Dalyn Beske of New Hope;
Sister, Dianne (Beske, husband Darwin) Carlson of The Villages, Florida;
nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her Parents, Max and Norrine Beske, and Daughter-in-law, Katie Meisner-Olson.
