Obituary

Dwayne Virgil Lee was born on November 16, 1940, in rural Franklin, Minnesota. He was the son of Spencer Melvin and Alice (Lund) Lee. Dwayne was baptized as an infant on January 14, 1941, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on June 5, 1955, by Pastor Holland. He received his education at country school District #31 and Fairfax High School. After school Dwayne began farming with his father and step brother, raising grain, hogs and dairy cattle; later he farmed alone until his son, Kevin joined him in the farming operation, raising corn and soybeans. Farming was his life.

Dwayne was united in marriage to Ruth Dahms, and with her had his only child Kevin.  They later divorced.

He met the love of his life, Patricia Hanson, and together shared their love for each other for the last 32 years.

Dwayne served his country in the National Guards.

Dwayne was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Franklin and a former member of Central Lutheran Church in Camp Township, rural Franklin.

Dwayne enjoyed bowling on several Men’s leagues through the years, water skiing, fishing, and watching car races in his younger years. He enjoyed morning coffee with the guys every day to discuss the days happenings, cruising around in his side by side checking out fields and the neighborhood. He loved farming in general, planting, harvesting and watching the crops grow, with his dogs, Ginger and Rosco by his side. He cherished the time he spent with his friends and family, especially his children and grandchildren.

Dwayne passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, surrounded by his family at his home in rural Franklin at the age of 81 years. Blessed be his memory
