Service Information
Elaine Danielson, age 83, of Litchfield, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Bethany Memory Care in Litchfield.
Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at 1:30 P.M., at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield with interment in the Manannah Union Cemetery.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Arrangements are with the Hantge Funeral Chapel in Darwin.
Obituary
Elaine Marjorie Danielson was born on October 24, 1933, in Litchfield, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Allen and Frieda (Risch) Sommerfeld. On November of 1933, she was baptized at home by Rev. Karl J. Plocher, she was confirmed in her faith at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Litchfield by Rev. Karl J. Plocher on June 22, 1947. Elaine attended grade school in Dist. 68 and Dist. 51 in Manannah. Due to failing health of her mother, she did not attend high school. Elaine’s mother passed away on August 25, 1951.
On June 25, 1960, Elaine was united in marriage to Leland Danielson at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield. This marriage was blessed with four children, Larry, Bryan, Lori, and Brenda. Elaine and Leland made their home in Mound, Minnesota where Elaine was employed for a few months at Tonka Toys. In April of 1962, they moved to Grove City, Minnesota, where they purchased a farm. Elaine was a loving homemaker and worked alongside Leland on their farm.
Elaine was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Litchfield.
Elaine enjoyed flowers, cooking, gardening, playing cards, and quilting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
When Elaine needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of Paynesville Koronis Manor. Elaine was there for two years and then moved to Bethany Memory Care in Litchfield on February 27, 2017. She passed away there on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at the age of 83 years.

Grandchildren, Joseph Danielson, Elayna Danielson, and Pearl Alexander;
Great Great Grandchildren, Lorianna Alexander and Michael Alexander;
Step-Grandchildren, Colin May and Stephanie Viles;
Step Great Great Grandchildren, Jace May, Brooklynn May, Thomas Viles, and Emmeline Viles;
Many other relatives and friends.
Elaine is preceded in death by her Parents, Allen and Frieda (Risch) Sommerfeld; Daughter, Brenda Glatzmaier; and Brother, Robert Sommerfeld.
