Service Information
Elaine Fratzke, age 83, of Hutchinson, Minnesota, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017, at the Minnesota Masonic Home Care Center in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be Wednesday, September 27, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery. Memorials preferred to Faith Lutheran Church.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be Tuesday, September 26, 2017, from 5:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Obituary
Elaine Arliss Fratzke was born December 15, 1933, in Hutchinson, Minnesota, the daughter of Emil and Edna (Hanson) Peterson. She was baptized and confirmed in her faith at Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Elaine attended country school in Heatwole, and graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1951.
On October 19, 1957, Elaine was united in marriage to Gordon Fratzke at Faith Lutheran Church. They made their home in Hutchinson, and were blessed with four children. Elaine had been employed with the McLeod County Historical Society, HTI, and most recently at Target.
Elaine’s faith and lifelong membership at Faith Lutheran in Hutchinson was very important to her. Throughout her years, she took joy in volunteering with the Women of the Church and attending services and events. Outside of church, Elaine delighted in cooking and baking and thought everything could use just a little more butter or whipped cream. She relished being outdoors and especially working in the yard of her home on Stahls Lake. Elaine also loved dogs, sewing, reading and savored snacking on her favorite candy, black licorice. She was always proud to tell people that she was a twin. Speaking of the Twins, if you knew Elaine, you know she was always excited about the Minnesota Twins and even the Vikings most days. Elaine had a distinctive, hearty laugh that could brighten any room and she will be greatly missed.
Following a brief illness, Elaine was hospitalized at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. She was released into the care of the Minnesota Masonic Home in Bloomington, and it was there she passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017. She had reached the age of 83 years. Blessed be her memory.

Lori Petersen and her husband, Mike, of Maple Grove, Minnesota,
Stacy Clay of Deer Creek, Minnesota, and
Anthony Fratzke and his wife, Sabrina, of St. Paul, Minnesota;
Grandchildren: Stephanie Chaffee (Jordan), Joseph Truax, Nicholas Petersen, Jonathan Petersen, Zachary Petersen, Matthew Clay (Liz), Christopher Ruth;
Great-Grandchildren, Christopher Ruth Jr. and Remi Clay;
Siblings, Phyllis Oleson of Hutchinson, and Arliss Haag and her husband, Delton, of Hutchinson;
Sister-in-law, Tynee Peterson of Chanhassen, Minnesota;
Nieces, Nephews, many other relatives, and friends.
Elaine was preceded in death by her siblings: Donald Peterson, Jane Lund, Roger Peterson, and Lorraine Jensen; Brother-in-law, Dean Oleson; and by her former spouse, Gordon Fratzke.
