Eleanor R. Crabb, age 85, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025, 11:00 A.M., at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, with interment following in the Glencoe City Cemetery in Glencoe.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 9:30-11:00 A.M., 1 ½ hours prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Eleanor Rose (Johnson) Crabb was born on April 13, 1940, in Mitchell, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Allen John and Bernita Geraldine (Rearick) Johnson. Eleanor was baptized as an infant on June 16, 1940, at the Congregational Church in Letcher, S.D., by Pastor Ray A. Haun, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 15, 1955, at the American Lutheran Church in Huron, S.D., by Pastor Sander Tollefsun. Eleanor received her education in Huron, S.D. She received her GED from the State of Minnesota Department of Education on April 26, 1974.
On December 8, 1957, Eleanor was united in marriage to Larry Wayne Crabb in Huron, S.D., at Wesliyan Methodist Parsonage by Pastor J. G. Winterberg. This marriage was blessed with three children: Allen, Penny, and Peggy. Eleanor and Larry made their home in Huron, S.D., and Swift Falls, Minnesota. In 1979, they moved to Glencoe, Minnesota. Eleanor and Larry shared over 62 years of marriage before Larry passed away on January 13, 2020.
Eleanor worked as a waitress in Huron, and when they moved to Swift Falls, she worked on the Jennie O Turkey Farm. Years later, she was employed at Telex Communications in Glencoe and worked there until her retirement.
Eleanor was an active member at Swift Falls Lutheran Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher, participating in the Ladies’ Guild, and singing in the church choir. She later became a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Glencoe, and never missed a Sunday service. Eleanor was also active with the Glencoe Lions for a number of years.
Eleanor enjoyed square dancing, and she loved to quilt. Eleanor's most recent hobby she enjoyed was painting diamond art and coloring. She greatly cherished the time she spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Eleanor passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe, at the age of 85 years, 1 month, and 18 days. Blessed be her memory.

3 Step-Grandchildren, Brandon Sundin, Brett Sundin, Breen Sundin;
Great-Grandchildren, Caitlin Nichols and her fiancé, Dustin Schulz, Nick Molden, Halie Nichols and her fiancé, Ben Clark, Abigail Mansell, Damien Sillivent, Austin Molden, McKenna Molden, Nvi Winfrey, Noah Nichols, Ava Nichols, Cora Nichols, Wyatt Salinas, Dominic Gomez, Olivia Ascheman, Piper Ascheman, and Elliot “Ellie” Ascheman, Aria Staskivige, Presley Staskivige;

Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Crabb; Father and Mother, Allen and Bernita Johnson; Grandparents, John Ohai Johnson, Caroline Christine (Kjoller) Johnson, Ella (Armstrong) Rearick, and Ansel Rearick; Daughter-in-law, Kelly Crabb.
