To the Hahn families: So sorry to hear of Ellsworth’s passing. I remember him and John really had a great time with making those pork chops on that grill of John’s. And the seasoning they made, great food. May the memories you shared and made help you through this most difficult time.

    Uncle E,
I was saddened when my folks told me the news Monday morning. As a kid and even as an adult I thought you would live forever. You were larger than life to me and I respected you so much for your hard work ethic. My best days as a youth were on that farm when we would come to visit in Summer. As I grew older the visits became less frequent, but the memories are always near me. When I pass a corn field here in Iowa, sometimes my mind races back to that farm and the good times I had. I’m so glad Vicki and I stopped by in 2010 to see you! Unfortunately, I didn’t know that was the last time I would see you. This thing called life gets in the way and sometimes it’s unfortunate, but time spent with family becomes less and less over the years. You got your wings Uncle E, fly on, fly free and Godspeed. Til Valhalla! SKOL

Sharon (Tootie), Angie, Jody, and Paul,
I regret to inform you that I will not be able to attend the funeral. I’m sure you have heard Vicki has lung cancer and I’m her primary caregiver and I’m unable to leave her alone for long periods of time. I miss you all and can only imagine what you are all going thru. I know words will never be enough to express my condolences. Uncle E has been on my mind since Monday morning and I have taken several trips down memory lane, a few tears but a whole bunch of smiles. The good times, the laughter at the kitchen table. A place that always felt like home. Though the years have separated us, my aunt, and my cousins….. I still love you and miss you immensely. May your God give you comfort and peace in the dark days ahead, may he embrace you with his grace and wipe the tears away, may he replace them with memories of the good days and times. Blessed Be.

When we lose someone we – love
We must learn not to live without them.
