Obituary
Elvern Mae Mickle was born on May 12, 1944, to Walter and Verna (Boldt) Tewes. She was baptized as an infant at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Acoma Township, rural Hutchinson, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Elvern received her education in Acoma Township and later in Hutchinson, and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1962.
On August 15, 1964, Elvern married the love of her life, Raymond Forcier. Together they raised three sons — Robert, Jeffrey, and Greg. She was their biggest supporter and never missed a football game or wrestling meet. After Raymond’s passing, Elvern later married Gary Mickle.
Elvern was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She was happiest when cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events. Becoming a great-grandmother brought her endless pride; she loved nothing more than loving on the babies.
Elvern spent her entire 40+ year career at Citizens Bank in Hutchinson where she enjoyed her work and the friendships she made over the years.
Elvern enjoyed cross stitching, puzzles, playing cards and games, spending time with family and friends and motorcycle rides. She was known for her Special K bars and her love of Coca-Cola. Elvern also had a large and cherished Precious Moments collection. She was active in her church and valued the community and friendships she formed there.
Elvern passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at her son’s home in Forest City Township, rural Watkins, Minnesota, at the age of 81 years.

Your smile was made of sunshine and your heart was solid gold. So many memories – from freezing corn at grandma’s and walking through the pasture to your house for an overnight to buying dresses for your granddaughters’ weddings and getting together to play games when home on weekends – you were always there, because that’s who you were.
Someone who genuinely cared about others. You loved going to watch your boys play ball and never missed a sporting event that the grandkids were in. You were their #1 cheerleader and will continue to be their guardian angel from above!
He gave us a gentle reminder that every day is a blessing! Laugh a little more and say I love you a whole lot more!
God’s grace is always with us!
