Erwin D. Picha, age 89, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2021, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Funeral Service will be Friday, July 9, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Glencoe with interment in the Glencoe City Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Obituary
Erwin D. Picha was born on September 6, 1931, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of John and Christina (Uhlis) Picha. Erwin was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth. He received his education at the one room school house in District 65, rural Glencoe, and furthered his education at the Glencoe High School.
Erwin lived on the family farm northwest of Glencoe where he farmed all his life. Being a crop farmer was Erwin’s pride and joy.
Erwin was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Glencoe.
In his younger years, Erwin enjoyed fishing and was a gymnast. He especially enjoyed playing the accordion and his favorite song to play was “Red Wing.”
Erwin cherished the time he spent with his family and friends and looked forward to nieces and nephews visiting every summer and spending time on the farm with him.
Erwin passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Blessed be his memory.
Erwin is survived by his:
Sisters, Lorraine Hanson of Fridley, Minnesota, Eunice Fairbanks and her husband, Leland, of Phoenix, Arizona; Sister-in-law, Charmaine Picha of Glencoe, Minnesota and numerous Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends.
Erwin is preceded in death by his Parents, John and Christina Picha; Brother, Maynard Picha; Sisters, Marion Picha and Dorothy Picha; and Brother-in-law, Edgar Hanson.
