Obituary
Ethan John Grimm was born on October 22, 2005, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the son of Adam and Katherine “Katie” (Terlinden) Grimm. Ethan was baptized as an infant on December 25, 2005, by Pastor Terry Brandenburg and later confirmed in his faith as a youth on October 25, 2020, by Pastor Daniel Welch, both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, Minnesota. He received his education through the 4th Grade at First Evangelical Lutheran School in Glencoe, following that he joined the Glencoe-Silver Lake Public School, and was set to graduate with the Glencoe-Silver Lake High School class of 2024.
Ethan loved adventure; from dirt bike expeditions with his dad to fishing trips with his dad, uncle, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He looked forward to getting on the boat and going knee-boarding during the summers. He loved to laugh and play games with his friends and family including Poker, Cribbage, Mexican Train, and Carbels. Ethan was an extremely hard worker and liked to work with his hands, especially around the farm. He was a true farm boy at heart. Ethan could typically be found sporting his cowboy hats and boots and other Western attire. Ethan had the most kind, selfless, generous heart; he was always helping others where he could, and it was pretty typical to get a wave or catch a smile from him when driving by in his truck. Ethan’s family and friends (whom he considered family) were very important to him; he always made a point to say “I Love You,” and gave the biggest most heartfelt hugs. Ethan enjoyed cooking pasta dishes and sharing meals with his family. He was an amazing son, big brother, grandson, and friend.
Ethan was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in November of 2023. During this extremely difficult time, Ethan was never one to complain and gave it his all to overcome the challenges that were ahead of him. Ethan lost his battle on December 19, 2023, surrounded by his family and lots of friends at M Health Fairview Masonic Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 18 years, 1 month, and 28 days. He is and will forever be missed by those who were a part of his life. Blessed be his memory.
