Eugene Heil

Obituary

Eugene Joseph Heil was born on March 15, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the son of Ervin Laffen and Florence Heil. Eugene was baptized as an infant on April 1, 1935, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth, both at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector, Minnesota.  He attended country school.

On April 10, 1956, Eugene was united in marriage to Carol Marie Wenz, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hector. This marriage was blessed with six children, Bonnie, Steven, Cathy, James, Nancy and Charles.  Eugene and Carol resided in various locations in Minnesota.  They lived in Hector, Hutchinson, New Ulm, Apple Valley, and later moved to Hutchinson permanently in 1981. They shared 26 years of marriage until Carol passed away on November 27, 1982.

Eugene held employment as a Truck Driver and drove for McKimm Transfer, Karl Trucking and New Ulm Freight Lines.  Eugene loved being a Truck Driver and worked right up until health issues kept him from doing what he loved.   

Eugene was a loving father, and husband.  Eugene especially enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, Drake, his dog and beloved companion, and many friends.

When Eugene needed assistance with his daily care, he became a resident of Cedar Crest Estates in Silver Lake, Minnesota in April 2016.  Eugene passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 31, 2016, surrounded by his family at Cedar Crest Estates in Silver Lake, at the age of 81 years.  His will be dearly missed by many. Blessed be his memory.
