Obituary

Evelyn Ruth (Riebe) Dittmer was born on October 23, 1932, in Arlington Township, Sibley County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Henry and Lillie (Raduenz) Riebe. She was baptized as an infant on November 20, 1932, by Pastor R. Heidemann and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 14, 1946, by Pastor J.G. Bradtke, both at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington, Minnesota. She attended country school in rural Arlington.

On October 23, 1949, Evelyn was united in marriage to Alfred August Dittmer by Pastor J.G. Bradtke at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Arlington. The couple made their home in Glencoe. Evelyn and Alfred’s marriage was blessed with 3 children, Barbara, Delvin, and Myron. They shared more than 54 years of marriage together until Alfred passed away on December 1, 2003.

Evelyn was a loving mother and homemaker. Years later, Evelyn was employed at Green Giant in Glencoe for 17 years and then Telex in Glencoe for 15 years. She was a longtime member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
