Frieda M. Schrupp

Obituary

Frieda Marie Adina Schrupp was born on December 9, 1930, on the home farm in Tyrone Township, LeSueur County, Henderson, Minnesota, to August and Augusta (Gorr) Malz. Frieda was baptized as an infant and confirmed at the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church in LeSueur, Minnesota.

On October 10, 1951, Frieda was united in marriage to Calvin Schrupp and shared 62 special years. They were blessed with three sons, David, Douglas and Duane. After they were married, they moved to a farm south of Gaylord and farmed for six years, then moved to Gaylord when Calvin bought the Allis Chalmers Implement business. They owned the implement business for eight years then sold it and bought land east of Gaylord on Highway 19 and built a mink ranch. After selling the mink ranch they moved into Gaylord.

Frieda was a member of the United Church of Christ in Gaylord for 73 years.

Frieda enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and when the grandchildren would call to let Frieda know they would like to come over for a visit “grandma” would always prepare a meal that was a favorite of the grandchild. That was something that was so very special to grandma to do. She enjoyed gardening and loved playing cards with family and friends.

Frieda passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at her home in Gaylord at the age of 94 years. Blessed be her memory.

Duane Schrupp and his wife, Norma of Cleveland, MN;
12 Grandchildren, Destiny and Joel Narlock, Desmond and Rachael Van Houten, Aaron Schrupp, Zac and Mao Shazar, Andrew Schrupp and his wife, Tiffany, Elizabeth and Nicholas Neiert; Sarah and Jon Forcier, Rebecca and Zachary Ljungren, Christopher Schrupp, Benjamin and Elizabeth Schrupp, Grant Schrupp and special friend, Becky, Michaela and Trey Fleming;
5 Step grandchildren, Brad Olcott, Bryan Olcott, Brenda and Jamie McKinney, Melissa Ornelas, Allen and Michelle Kraay;
17 Great-grandchildren and many step great-grandchildren;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Frieda was preceded in death by her Parents, August and Augusta Malz; Husband, Calvin Schrupp; Sister and Brother-in-law, Elma and Alfred Hoppe; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Arnold and Elsie Schrupp; Sisters-in-law, Fayetta Schrupp and Rosemarie and Fredrick Perschau.
