Obituary

Gary Howard Rosnau was born on April 21, 1947, in New Ulm, Minnesota. He was the son of Howard and Lois (Peterson) Rosnau. Gary was baptized as an infant and confirmed in the Winthrop Covenant Church. He received his education in the Winthrop School and graduated with honors in the class of 1965. He furthered his education at the University of Minnesota before being drafted in the Army in the fall of 1966. He served two years; one year active duty was spent in Viet Nam. He was honorably discharged in the fall of 1969. He returned home and worked at Mid America Dairy, retiring after 30 years.

Gary was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Winthrop and served on the church board and as an usher.

Gary had a passion for reading, traveling, listening to music and shopping. He knew his history and kept up on current events. As a family, if we had questions or needed information about something, we’d say - “Ask Gary.” He also enjoyed his morning coffee at Hahn’s with the guys.

He was a quiet, kind, compassionate individual. He looked forward to family vacations to Northern Minnesota, family get-togethers, and special times with nephew, Brandon, and niece, Kendra, and their families. He will be deeply missed.

Gary passed away at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis to his eternal home on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at the age of 68 years. Blessed be his memory.

Gary is survived by his:

Sisters,           Diane Miller and husband, Douglas,

                        Peggy Rosnau and special friend, Dan Duoos;

Nephew, Brandon Miller and wife, Anita;

Niece, Kendra Anderberg and husband, Dave,

     Matt Duoos and Katie Duoos;

Great-Nephews, Taylor, Nathan, Matthew, and Bradley;
