Gerald “Jerry” H. Voight, age 89, husband of Monica, of Glencoe, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at his home in Glencoe.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, April 30, 2024, 11:00 A.M., at the Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe, Minnesota, with interment following at the Glencoe Catholic Cemetery.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Monday, April 29, 2024, from 4:00-7:00 P.M., at the Johnson McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe. Prayer Service will be at 6:30 P.M. Gathering of Family & Friends will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Obituary
Gerald “Jerry” Henry Voight was born on March 21, 1935, in Arlington, Minnesota. He was the son of Henry and Marie (Voight) Voight. Jerry was baptized as an infant on April 20, 1935, by Reverend Heidmann and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on April 15, 1949, by Reverend Arnt, both at St. Paul’s Church in Green Isle. He received his education in Arlington and was a graduate of the Arlington High School Class of 1953.
On May 25, 1954, Jerry was united in marriage to Monica Osmek by Reverend Luger at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Glencoe. After their marriage, the couple resided in Glencoe. This union was blessed with three children, Marlys, Donald and Rodney. Jerry was employed as a truck driver for Telex in Glencoe, retiring in 1997. Jerry and Monica shared 69 years of marriage.
Jerry was a member of the Church of St. Pius X in Glencoe.
Jerry enjoyed being a musician, playing instruments and singing. He played with the Elites, the Rockets, the Kings 70, the Kings 70 Country Band and the Jim Brewers Band with Jim and Jerry. He was on bass guitar and keyboard. Jerry also enjoyed playing cards, traveling, golfing, sports especially the Minnesota Twins, crossword puzzles, and bowling. Jerry cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jerry passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at his home in Glencoe at the age of 89 years. Blessed be his memory.

Great-Grandchildren, Saveah Rothmeier and Anthony Petree;
Siblings, Marlene Scott of Tempe, AZ, Dennis Voight and his wife, Beverly, of Goodyear, AZ;
Sisters-in-law, Ruth Voight of Arlington, MN, and Vivian Osmek of Minneapolis, MN;
Brother-in-law, Charles Johnson of Annandale, MN;
Nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his Parents, Henry and Marie Voight; Sister, Janice Johnson; Brother, Larry Voight; Brothers-in-law, Bruce Scott and Daniel Osmek.
