Obituary

Gerald Martin Schuett was born on October 25, 1946, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Martin and Sarah (Furst) Schuett. Gerald was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church in Brownton, Minnesota. He was baptized as an infant on November 10, 1946, and later confirmed in his faith as a youth in June of 1960 by Reverend Raysler. He attended Brownton Public School.

On May 11, 1974, Gerald was united in marriage to Avonne Rose at Centennial Lutheran Church in Henderson, Minnesota. They resided on the family farm. Their union was blessed with two daughters, Theresa and Marsha. The couple shared over 51 years of marriage.

Farming and raising Hereford cattle were central to Gerald’s life and brought him great joy. Among his fondest childhood memories were caring for his rabbits, raising pigeons, and tending to his pony, Tony, a cherished Christmas gift from his parents. As an adult, he worked at Green Giant and hauled milk, all while assisting with the many duties on the family farm. Gerald’s lifelong devotion to farming was matched by his appreciation for the friendships and connections he formed along the way.

Gerald passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at his home in Brownton, at the age of 78, leaving behind a legacy of love for family, farming, and kindness. Blessed be his memory.

Thank you, Brian. I can still remember you and him talking together at Kendra’s wedding. Dad Gerald thought well of you.
