Service Information

Glenn Kiecker, age 77, of Burnsville passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, at the Minnesota Masonic Home in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Graveside Service will be Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Assembly #4, in Minneapolis.

Obituary

Glenn was born at home in Wellington Township, Minnesota, to Oscar and Vilora (Hodson) Kiecker on June 17, 1943.  He attended grade school at Emanuel Lutheran School and graduated from Fairfax Public School in 1961.

Glenn served as a medic in the 826th Medical Group at Ramey AFB in Puerto Rico from 1961-1965.  He went on to earn degrees in Accounting, Business Administration and Economics from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

In 1973, Glenn began working as Pollution Control Specialist for the City of Minneapolis retiring in 1991.  He also served on the Natl Alternative Energy Association and Minnesota Fuel Alcohol Association boards.

Glenn found happiness as a member of Minnesota Cataract Lodge #2 and Minnesota National Sojourners Chapter #25, donating to the Vince Schute Wildlife Sanctuary at Orr, Minnesota, and becoming a devoted genealogist.  He celebrated his sobriety since March 22, 1973.

Glenn DeWayne Kiecker of Burnsville, Minnesota, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 4, 2021, at the Minnesota Masonic Home in Bloomington, Minnesota, of cancer.

Glenn is survived by his:
Daughter, Kathleen (Joshua) Allen and grandsons Seamus and Thomas Allen of Carnation WA;
Sisters, Janice (Len) Kiecker of Red Wing MN, Geri (Tom) Kiecker of Edgeley ND and Patti (Bob) Young of St Augusta MN;
sister-in-law, Peggy Kiecker of Fairfax MN;
numerous nieces and nephews.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Jean Fankhauser and Darlene Kiecker; his brother, Marvin Kiecker; dear friend, Patricia Maas; and special pet, Blackie.

Glenn requested that his body be donated to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program.  His ashes will be interred at Fort Snelling.

And the dust returns to the ground it came from…And the spirit returns to God who gave it.
