To the Family of Gordon Bjorklund, with heartfelt sympathy of your loss. Uncle Gordy was always kind, patient & had a great sense of humor up until your his days. Memories of him being present at every event that the Bjorklund family held will be in my heart always. He will be missed! An early memory that I have.. is that Gordy drove Ann, Nancy and I to Gaylord from St Paul to stay for a couple days. He had brought along 1 bottle of Mountain Dew for us to share. This was a first for the 3 of us- we had never heard of Mountain Dew! He had 3 little dixie cups for us to share the bottle together. We made that one bottle last all the way to Gaylord! We savored each sip that we took! I also have many memories of Gordy arriving home from Bemidji with my dad Harold and Uncle Jerry after a weekend of deer hunting and all the excitement of hearing how successful the hunt was! Gordon’s love for the Swedish Heritage and lutefisk is something that will always remind me of him. Rest in peace Uncle Gordon.

I remember being fond of Gordon from my earliest childhood. He was always willing to participate in a game of catch with a softball or football. Then as I got older I looked forward to attending a Vikings game or two every season. One memorable game had us driving to Bloomington during a driving snowstorm. The yard markers needed to be swept off often. I dont remember being cold, i do remember watching many Viking games with Uncle Gordon. Rest in peace Gordie, see what you can do for the Vikings up there!

With our deepest sympathy to your loving sisters Louise and Eunice and your loving brother Harold and their families. My sweet and loving Uncle Gordie how deeply I will miss you. Always kind and thoughtful and wanting more lutefisk! We enjoyed many Viking games together and always loved talking about any sporting news old or new. Gordie loved to smile and laugh with Emma and Matias and truly enjoyed conversations on any topic with Alex. Gordie was a ray of sunshine to everyone who knew him! God bless this angel, you are so loved??

I am so sorry to read of Gordie’s passing and wish I had known in time to be there for his memorial gathering. Gordie was a sweet and kind man who was so interested in his Swedish heritage. I am glad he finally made a trip to Sweden. I enjoyed my conversations with him, whether here or in Gaylord. He was interested in his community and church and our museum, too. He had a wry smile, a gentle sense of humor and was always fun to be with. I will miss him and extend my condolences to his family and other friends. Bruce Karstadt, American Swedish Institute.

I extend my sympathies to the family, as I just heard of Gordon’s passing. Uncle Gordon always remembered my name and always had an interest in what us “Washington” Bjorklunds were doing. He had a quick wit and a great smile and I loved his ever so gentle manner. I know you will be missed by all those that got to experience your light on a regular basis. Rest in Peace…

Thank you Donna, Harold, Eunice and Jerry för letting me know that Gordon has passed away. I have nice memories of him from the day we met when he visited Sweden. We always sent Christmas letters to each other, often with small gifts in them!
May he rest in peace, we will always remerber him.
