Gordon Russell Stender Jr.

Obituary

Gordon Russell Stender Jr. was born on February 12, 1956, in Watertown, Minnesota.  He was the son of Gordon and LaJane (Schuettpelz) Stender.  Gordon was baptized as an infant on March 4, 1956, and later was confirmed in his faith as a youth on March 22, 1970, by Rev. Schroeder both at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America, Minnesota.  His confirmation verse was John3:16.  Gordon received his education at Central High School in Norwood Young America, graduating with the Class of 1974.

Gordon worked at Eaton Corporation in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.  On August 23, 1975, Gordon was united in marriage to Kim Flynn at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carver, Minnesota.  Their marriage was blessed with four children, Jeff, Jennifer, Jaclyn and Julia.

Gordon enjoyed hunting, fishing, trap shooting, cooking, Minnesota sports teams and trips to the Cabin.  He was known to be a prankster and jokester.  He loved the time spent with his friends and family, especially his grandchildren.

Gordon passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at the age of 61 years, 11 months and 27 days.

Gordon is preceded in death by his Parents, Gordon Sr. and LaJane Stender.
