Service Information
Grace I. Schumann, age 93, of Dassel, Minnesota, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson, Minnesota.
Memorial Service will be Saturday, November 15, 2025, 11:00 A.M., at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with interment in the church cemetery.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 9:00-11:00 A.M., two hours prior to the service at the church.

Obituary
Grace Ida Louise Schumann was born on September 1, 1932, in Cosmos, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Fred and Ida (Ruckert) Brede. Grace was baptized as an infant on November 6, 1932 at Peace Lutheran Church in Cosmos, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 14, 1946, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She received her education at country school.
On September 19, 1948, Grace was united in marriage to Reinhardt “Bud” Schumann at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. This marriage was blessed with three children, Dale, Glenn and Leann. Grace and Bud made their home on the farm near Lake Jennie, Collinwood Township, for all 60 years of their married life until Bud passed away on October 26, 2008. On September 1, 2022, Grace became a resident of Lakeside Generations in Dassel, Minnesota, until the time of her passing.
Grace had a strong faith and faithfully prayed for her entire family every evening before bed. She was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Grace loved tending to her flower gardens, especially her fern peonies, and hydrangeas. She was wonderful at cooking and baking. Grace was well known for her angel food cake with creamy glaze and her ham balls. Grace especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
Grace passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Hutchinson Health in Hutchinson, at the age of 93 years.

Son, Glenn Schumann and his wife, Julie of Dassel, MN, and their children, Aimee (Terry) Brown and their family, Madison Brown, Colin (Friend, Marisa Black) Brown, Meghan Brown and her children, Tyler, Aidan and Jaxson Brown, Anna (Tim) Aamot and their family, Julia Aamot, Luke (Jada) Aamot, Leah Aamot, Elijah Aamot, Gabriel Aamot, Eden Aamot, Rachel Aamot, Ellah Aamot, Keziah Aamot, Maria (Jay) Asplin and their family, Michael (Jordyn) Asplin and their son, Warren, Peter Asplin, Collin Asplin, Erik Asplin, Ryan Asplin, Sarah (Dan) Nyquist and their family, Owen Nyquist, Titus Nyquist, Micah Nyquist, Adayah Nyquist, Judah Nyquist, Hannah Nyquist;

Grace is preceded in death by her Parents, Fred and Ida Brede; Husband, Bud Schumann; Siblings, Viola (Harlan) Rasmussen, Arnold (Helen) Brede, Marvin Brede, Orville (Elaine) Brede, Laverne (Ella) Brede, Earl (Verle) Brede.
