Obituary

Helen Bertha Becker was born on February 18, 1928, in Penn Township, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Reinhard and Elsie (Gaulke) Kelm. Helen was baptized as an infant on March 4, 1928, and later confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 3, 1942, both by Rev. W.E. Diemer at Penn Church. She received her education at District 1639 in Penn Township.

On June 6, 1948, Helen was united in marriage to Wilbert Becker at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Penn Township. This marriage was blessed with four children, Mavis, Marsha, Dean, and Mark. Helen and Wilbert resided in Penn Township, Round Grove Township, and in 2012 they moved to Hutchinson. They shared 73 years of marriage.

Helen was a loving farm wife and active in the daily operation of the farm. She was a member of St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School. She later became a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Winthrop.

She enjoyed traveling, gardening, quilting, canning, baking bread, and making homemade stuffing. Helen was kind, loving, hardworking, humble and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Helen passed away on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at Hutchinson Health, at the age of 93 years.

Sister, Lois (Kelm) Klitzke of Hutchinson, MN;
Many other relatives and friends.

Helen is preceded in death by her Parents, Reinhard and Elsie Kelm; Granddaughter, Laura Schiro; Nephews, Larry Klitzke, Lance Lade; Brothers-in-law, Loren Lade, Rufus Klitzke, Clarence Becker, Daryl Barfknecht, Hank Seil; Sisters-in-law, Selda Becker, Arleen Becker, Marlys Seil; Mother and Father-in-law, Alfred and Adeline Becker.
