Jeff Boesche says
Jim, I feel blessed to count Doc as one of my best friends. He was a no-nonsense type of guy and you always new where he stood, but he had a heart of gold. In my visits with him over the years, I learned of many times he would help and be kind to those less fortunate. He was a hardworking man who took care of his obligations and who also saw his share of tragedy over the years. But though those things hurt him he always kept moving forward. He and I usually saw eye to eye on things, I, along with the many people whose lives he touched, will miss him dearly. Now he’s in God’s hands and he’s not suffering here. Rest in peace Doc, my great friend.
Rhonda Kay Schild says

Last time I talked to you you said I love you, I love you to Doc. Now you can talk with John and listen to his jokes. Will miss you dearly. Sorry for your loss James
