Service Information
Idell J. Kadelbach, age 93, of Litchfield, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Ecumen of Litchfield.
Memorial Service will be Friday, September 19, 2025, 11:00 A.M., at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield, with interment in Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.
Gathering of Family and Friends will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Obituary
Idell June Kadelbach was born on August 16, 1932, in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. She was the daughter of Harold and Emma (Busse) Laidlaw. Idell was baptized as an infant and later confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at the Methodist Church in Ladysmith, Wisconsin. She received her education in Litchfield, Minnesota, and was a graduate of the Litchfield High School class of 1950.
On September 1, 1950, Idell was united in marriage to Aldeen Kadelbach at their home on the farm in Grove City, Minnesota. This marriage was blessed with four children, Ralph, Ila, Karla and Fred. Idell and Aldeen made their home in Litchfield. They shared 75 years of marriage.
Idell enjoyed being at home with her children and helping Aldeen on the farm. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Litchfield. She was also a member of the Litchfield Eagle’s Club Auxiliary, American Legion Post 104 Auxiliary and the VFW Post 2818 Auxiliary.
Idell loved to knit, play cards, and read. Idell enjoyed camping and hunting with her husband and children. She also volunteered her time at the nursing home working with the residents in hospice. Idell especially cherished her time spent with her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends. She was also involved in a women’s bible study and quilting group at her church.
Idell passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, at Ecumen of Litchfield at the age of 93 years.

18 Great-grandchildren;
and many other relatives and friends.
Idell is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Emma Laidlaw; daughters-in-law, Kathi Kadelbach and Ruby “Tony” Kadelbach; sons-in-law, Ronnie Rueckert, Dick Johanneck; brothers, Percy Laidlaw, Earl Laidlaw, Glen Laidlaw, Ralph Laidlaw, Lavern Laidlaw, and a brother in infancy; sisters Edith Miller, Doris (Allen) Forseth, Lorene (John) Mataczynski, and a sister in infancy.

Aldeen and family, Idell was an important part of the Eagles Auxiliary and an inspiration to all of us. Especially enjoyed cooking with her back in the day of our dinners/luncheons.
