Obituary
Iona Irene Visser was born on June 16, 1931, in Olivia, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Theodore Sr. and Vera (Chadsey) Visser. Iona was raised on the family farm, attended St. Aloysius Grade School, and graduated from Olivia High School in 1949.
During her high school days, she enjoyed roller skating where she met the floor manager, Kenneth Tegner, at the rink in Renville. They were united in marriage at St. Aloysius Parish House in Olivia, on November 23, 1949. Ken and Iona were able to share 70 years of marriage. Thirty-seven of those years were spent on the family farm north of Hector before they settled into their house in town.
Iona was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and attended mass every week. She enjoyed cooking, baking and activities with friends like coffee, birthday club, steak club, card club, red hats, and trying her luck at the casino. After she retired from farming she did seasonal work weighing trucks at the sugar beet piling site which she loved to talk about, delivered meals-on-wheels and made an occasional floral delivery.

Sorry to hear this. I remember visiting them at the farm with my parents when I was about 12. Great fun listening to the guy talk, mostly about farming and politics.
