Obituary

James Bradley Russell passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the age of 60. A loving father, son, brother, and husband of thirty-one years, Jim was born on September 12, 1958 in Antigo, Wisconsin to James A. Russell and Janet C. Russell. Jim graduated from Waconia High School and the University of Minnesota with a degree in Music Education. He loved music and performed professionally for 15 years. Jim married his best friend, Naomi Gorder, on October 17, 1987 and was blessed with three children - James Douglas, Noelle Christine, and Caroline Anne Russell. Jim was an eternal optimist and cherished every minute spent with his family, flying his plane, playing music, and being an entrepreneur. Jim’s greatest pleasure was working with his family to transform the Russell Ranch into a lively horse boarding facility.

Jim is preceded in death by his father, James A. Russell; grandparents James and Clara Russell, Otis and Helen Hildahl and Harry and Verna Hanson. He is survived by his wife Naomi; children James, Noelle, and Caroline; his mother Janet Russell; sister Janmarie and brother-in-law, Peter Millpointer, brother Jon and sister-in-law Amy Russell, and sister Julie Dufresne; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

    My Dear Naomi and family,
So very very sorry to hear the awful news of Jim’s death. It is incomprehensible. My thoughts, tears, and prayers have been with you and your family since hearing of Jim’s passing. May God give you strength for the long sorrowful journey you must now travel. Blest be the memory of this wonderful man called home far too soon. Love you.

I am so sorry for your loss! My dear husband Jeff passed away tragically three years ago so I truly know your grief. Cling to Christ and He will not fail you as you navigate such sorrow.

Jim was so kind to me in high school. He always had a smile and a chuckle to share!

You will be in my prayers.
In the Peace of Our Lord,
    LorrIne

Many, many years ago my husband & I heard a band….We have never forgotten the beautiful harmony & the extraordinary talent of those young men… Jim, Jon & Clark were so very talented! We were always amazed at the variety of instruments Jim played! & played so very well. We would go to hear them every chance we had! The sheer love of music was so evident! Jim helped create many wonderful memories for us!
Our deepest sympathy for your loss,
