Jane Martin, age 82, of Plato, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2020, from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe, Minnesota.
Graveside Service will be held Thursday, July 16, 2020, 11:00 A.M. at Bethel Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. Please feel free to bring your own chair for the service.

Obituary
Jane Helen (Buhlmann) Martin was born on September 12, 1937, in Aitkin, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Hans and Laverna (Emch) Buhlmann. Jane was baptized as an infant on December 25, 1937, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth in 1951, both at St. John’s Church in Aitkin, Minnesota. She received her education Aitkin, Minnesota, graduating with the Aitkin High School Class of 1955. Jane furthered her education by attending Minneapolis Lab and X-Ray Technical School.
On August 23, 1958, Jane was united in marriage to Roger Martin at St. John’s Church in Aitkin. Jane and Roger made their home in rural Plato, Minnesota. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Ronald and Ramona. Jane and Roger shared over 61 years of marriage.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Jane helped with milking cows on the family farm. She also worked at the Glencoe Clinic as a Lab/X-Ray Technician for 30 years and at Starkey Labs in Glencoe. Jane then continued her education by attending school for CNA receiving her license and worked at Glencoe Nursing Home until her retirement at age 67. She was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota. As her ministry to the church, she proudly served as a Sunday school teacher and sang in the church choir.
Jane loved taking care of others and was a practical joker always keeping everyone laughing. She enjoyed taking care of all of the farm animals including the hens, chickens and dogs. Jane crotched afghans for her three grandchildren and also enjoyed having fun and playing jokes on them. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
Jane passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at GlenFields Living with Care in Glencoe, Minnesota, at the age of 82 years, 9 months and 26 days.

Sending condolences to Janie’s family. I remember Janie mostly from our childhood when we attended relative’s events ‘up north’. Example: John and Emma’s Emch’s golden anniversary.
Jane always had a big smile and was a ‘talker’ like the Domjahn side of her family. Jane’s mother and my mother were first cousins and my mother’s favorite cousin.
